The Shot Types

Define the three techniques (180 degrees rule, shot reverse shot and match on action)

180 DEGREES RULE: A rule stating that a camera should be placed somewhere inside 180 degrees on a particular side of the invisible line of a shot containing two people filmed in sequence.

SHOT REVERSE SHOT: A shot that views the action from the opposite side of the previous shot, as during a conversation between two actors, giving the effect of looking from one actor to the other.

MATCH ON ACTION: Match on action means that when something happens in the scene then when there is a cut the same piece of action must be going on. This is an example of continuity editing and is very important in helping the audience continually understand exactly what is happening.
